Gaelic Star is on Google Play now. It is free, and it is the same game as on iPhone.
All thirty-two counties and every club are there from the first launch. Nothing is locked and there is nothing to buy. It needs Android 8.0 or later.
The game now carries advertising

Gaelic Star costs nothing and there is still nothing to buy. From this update it carries advertising, and that is what pays for it.
Those ads are never personalised. Personalisation is switched off for every player, everywhere, so no profile of you is built and nothing about you is used to choose what you see. Anybody under 13 is shown no advertising at all, and until the game has been told an age it treats you as a child and shows none.
Nothing in the game is locked behind an ad. Some of them you choose yourself — watch a video and get something back — and you can play a whole career without ever doing that. There will never be a betting or gambling ad in this game, because children play it.

You can manage a club now

The update adds a second kind of career. You are asked once when you start: a county, or a club.
Over 1,500 real clubs are in there, placed where they actually are and wearing their own colours, and each one plays its county's real championship. There is nobody to sign. You have the men who were born in the parish, and that is the point of it. Win the county and the province is next; win that and you are in Croke Park on Paddy's Day.
Croke Park is in the game and you can play in it. So are three smaller grounds — a field with a rail round it, a club ground with a terrace, and a provincial stadium — and the weather changes with the month.
Passing is yours again, and the keepers stay

The game used to decide whether you meant a hand pass or a kick pass. Now you do: tap the pass button to fist it, hold it to kick it. The button tells you which one you are about to do, and the ball goes where you aim it.
There are four camera angles and you can change them in any match, not just in practice.
A goalkeeper can no longer walk out on you. If he was the last one on your panel, losing him used to leave you with a team you could not name and a match you could not start, with nothing on screen saying why. He stays now.
There is a tutorial on the front door for anyone new. Four lessons, and you can skip any of them.

Gaelic Star is on the App Store. It is free, it runs on iPhone, and all thirty-two counties are there from the first launch.
There are no in-app purchases and no ads. Nothing is held back behind a payment, so there is no better version of this waiting on money.

What is in the first build

Gaelic Star is a Gaelic football manager career with the match played in 3D. You take a county, you name the fifteen every week, and then you go out and play the match yourself.
The match is a full fifteen-a-side game under the 2025 rules. The solo, the hand pass, the high catch in the middle, the two-pointer from outside the arc, and the shot over the bar. You can simulate one if you are short of time. Playing them is the point.
Around the match there is the League and the Championship, the split season, scouting, transfers, awards, retirements, and a county board whose patience runs out. Every player in your panel is rated in stars out of five, in half steps, and form moves week to week. Get sacked and you start again somewhere else.
The game does not collect anything

There is no account and no sign-in. Nothing about how you play is measured or sent anywhere, and there is no advertising in the build.
